OUR STORY: THE BIRTH & REBIRTH OF KLEENUP
In 2018, I developed a brush cleansing formula that quickly gained praise from clients. The idea of turning it into a business lingered in my mind, but doubt held me back. As a health education graduate passionate about hygiene, I dreamed of creating a brand that would elevate beauty standards, yet, I hesitated.
Everything changed at the end of 2018 when I sent testers to my makeup artist friends. Their overwhelmingly positive feedback gave me the push I needed. By 2019, Kleenup Cosmetics was born. I wanted a name that captured our mission: promoting cleanliness and hygiene in the beauty industry. One morning, while spending time with my niece and nephew, we sang along to the Barney-themed song, “Clean up, clean up…” It clicked! Inspired by that moment, Kleenup became our identity, a fresh, memorable name that reflected our purpose. Like any journey, ours wasn’t without challenges.
The COVID-19 pandemic, financial constraints, and an increasingly competitive market tested our resilience. But we kept pushing. Participating in @themakeupfair series, we sold out our products, proving there was a demand for what we offered. The lockdown became a period of strategy and reinvention, allowing us to refine our vision. Three years later, we relaunched with remodeled products and exciting new additions, stronger and more determined than ever.
